Synopsis
In an ultra-Orthodox Hasidic community, Minkush, a young wife and new mother, discovers a way to circumvent the law prohibiting sexual relations until six months after childbirth. She must convince her observant husband to choose her path over the community's law and his conscience in this dramatic story about love versus religious loyalty..
Director's Biography
Israeli director and screenwriter Brachi Haisherik graduated from the Ger Seminary in Israel, majoring in film and design. Growing up in the Ger Hasidic community, Brachi brings a fresh, unique, fearless voice to film and TV, expressing an intensive, ambivalent perspective of her culture’s lifestyle and identity.
Her first short film, In Service of the King, was produced by Green Productions (Cinema Sabaya, Saving Shuli). Today, Brachi is in pre-production of her second film, Floor-time, produced by Tammy Cohen (TV series Fire Dance, The Wedding Plan), and is developing a TV series under the guidance of director Rama Burshtein-Shai.
